Former sex-trafficking victim says Canadian parents need to know warning signs
I've been volunteering on a community engagement committee to raise awareness about human sex trafficking in Waterloo Region. The Waterloo Region Crime Prevention Council and the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region are doing great work to bring this issue to the forefront. It's happening a lot here; 70 per cent of human sex trafficking in Canada takes place in Ontario.
Through this work, I met Timea Nagy-Payne, one of the country's most vocal advocates for survivors of human sex trafficking. Read my interview with her, published in the United Church Observer.
